Conversation with Benjamin Weil

A curator and art critic, Benjamin Weil has had a remarkable career in the field of digital art and new media. Among the various positions he has held in this field, notable roles include directing the New Media Arts Department at the Institute of Contemporary Art in London, curating Media Arts at SFMOMA – San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and serving as Artistic Director at Centro Botín in Santander, among others. Since 2021, he has been the Director of the Modern Art Center at the Gulbenkian Foundation. In this interview, Weil reflects on the role of institutions and artistic practices in a world transformed by new media.
